Have any AB'ers ever played a game of Monopoly to the finish. All the games I have ever played usually finished when one person started putting hotels on Park Lane & Mayfair! How does the game finish naturally?

I play with my sons and we have a no mortgage rule. So games usually finish within 2 hours max. Mind you, my youngest son has a policy of just buying everything he lands on (he takes after his mother), so he rarely lasts long.

Once someone has hotels on Mayfair & Park Lans the game will quickly end in their favour, so if your games stop at that point its because you've already learned that. The game naturally finishes when all the players except one are bankrupt.

actually I think it would also depend on the other players hands and the number of players. If you had the trafalger sq and leicester sq side with hotels you'd give the others a good run for their money as there is a high probablity they will land on you twice in one go and possibly up to four times. t

there is no real skill in monopoly,as i have found it is all down to the dice. the only outsdanding common sense though is tonot squander your money. when we lay we increase the jackpot to 700 eurso. that way the game should last a bit longer even if some lucky chicken gets mayfair and parklane.having all the stations can really pee off the other players too!!i like to go for the two brownies (the cheapest place on the board) even though the return on landing on these places isnt great it is cheaper to build on giving you the chance to get your accomodation out there on the board quicker.naturally the game finishes when the money runs outand bankruptcy occurs.heres a tip if you have either parklane or mayfair do not ever trade them even if you have the one ,once that person has the two of them he will clean up. we have bought monopoly on the playstation and its a crack and a half ,id recommend it for avid monopoly fans, it runs along faster and theres no handling money dices or dogs and cars!!

the games finishes when every one is bankrupt except the winner! thats basically it! parklane and mayfair won't allways win you the game as hamish said if you had a quater of the board (e.g the browns and blues) you could still wipe every one out!!
