I know this is a how long is a piece of string kind of question but I was wondering if anyone can give me some ideas on roughly how much childcare can cost as I'm looking into starting a family but need a rough guide on costs first. I do not have any family who could look after the baby so the plan is to have one then go back to work for a year and then have another and give up work altogether. For the year in between I was looking for a nursery between 7.30 and 6 each day.

I haven't a clue but look at the queston'leaving child in creche' a few questions further down and some of the comments might help. Couldn't you delay it for a couple of years then give up work after the first one?
I had my babies a bit later(34) and never regretted being at home for both of them.
Good luck, sorry I can't help with facts and figures but I 'm pretty suer it would be expensive for that many hours!
Hi Kelly, I'm based in Dublin and pay 900 per month for those sort of hours. Good luck with the family!
