my fence has blown down in the high winds its on the right hand side as i look out from my house into tthe garden does anyone know who is responsible to replace it?me or my neighbour?thanks in anticipation.

Need to check the deeds as to
1. ownership of the fence &
2. who's land does it stand on.

Doesn't make any difference which side if the house its on, its all down to the person who paid for it if its on the boundary. But of course if it belongs to the neighbour then then they don't have to replace it. If you want it replaced and they don't then its down to you

As a rule of thumb if the ugly side of the fence faces into your garden then it is likly that it is your fence. By ugly I mean can you see the supporting fence posts.

del.dont talk crap,it does matter what side it is,i have exactly the same thing and its my neighbours fence and mine is on the left,and i think you will find also as flyciderman says,about the ugly side facing in to your garden

See deeds. They should show "T" marks. These point into one or other property (ie the one who owns/maintains wall/fence/hedge) or else an "H" mark astride boundary shows that it's joint.
