Faro - taxi

Roughly how much will it cost me for a taxi from the airport to the city centre of Faro? mid afternoon.

A taxi will be quite pricey. The Faro airport website quotes a sample fare of 70 euros during the week or 84 euros at weekends:

The Service 16 bus will offer a much cheaper option. There are daily departures are at 1432, 1507, 1612 (Monday to Friday only) and 1712. The journey time, to Faro bus station (shown as 'Avenida' on the timetable) is just 18 minutes:

Those taxi fares seemed so ridiculous that I've taken another look at the information on the Faro Airport website. My post correctly quoted the fare given on that site but there must be an error because the fares to places much further away are far lower than the Fare to the centre of Faro!
