Hi,We are in the middle of filling the latest ipod with music and was just wondering what 'genre' you would give to Leonard Cohen, and Anthony & the Johnsons?

Or would you make your own title of genre? 'Moody'?
At the moment it is left in 'Unclassifiable'
Any suggestions gratefully appreciated.
Thanks

It's hard to find a category that Cohen fits into. Some of his stuff is so moody that you could almost call it blues. There's also a touch of folk to what he does. You could always have a category called Singer/Songwriter.

Leonard Cohen is a 'Singer/Songwriter' on mine. I don't have any A&tJs, but would be tempted to call them 'alternative', based on what little I've heard.
"Slit your throat" seems an appropriate Genre
Not a fan then? Jennifer Warne was asked about Leonard Cohen once and said that there had to be room in music for the melancholy. Sounds fair to me, so long as you don't overdo it.

Thanks guys for your advice, (sorry I didn't get to acknowedge earlier).
Markjlett seems to be on the right road. I was also given the suggestion of 'suicidal'
I don't have too much of that kind of music so it will be a small group anyway.
Thanks again for suggestions.
