Me and my girlfriend are going to NY for the new year, and we would love to get married a la Phoebe and Mike.. any ideas how I'd go about arranging to use the street and also what would need to be done regarding making it official?

I got married in Hawaii - and I had to call the Department of Health for that state, and then find a judge!!!. Some states in US require you to be in the country for certain periods of time before you can get a licence.

I suggest you try searching for a wedding planner on yell.com and see if they can give you advice or act as your agent.

My partner's cousin got married at City Hall and then we all took the ferry over to the Statue of Liberty for the wedding pics [some background!!!]. Am sure you can find details on the web.

dont give up because it sounds difficult, I am sure it will all be worth the extra effort and something to tell your grandchildren !!!!!
