sydney/ melbourne coastal drive
3 Answers
We have a week to spend between leaving Melbourne and arriving in Sydney.
Has anyone driven the coastal route between these cities, if so what were your thoughts regarding sites to see, accommodation on route or just whether it was fun to do. Any other suggestions on spending time in the southeast corner of Australia would be much appreciated.

From memory it was quite a relaxing drive, despite being listed as a major road, I remember remarking to my wife on one occasion, "do you realise, we have not seen another car coming in the opposite direction for over three minutes. " Didnt book any accomodation, just stopped when we saw somwhere we liked. I also remember finding some great places to eat also a very nice golf course!! . What we didnt do, but should have, and that was take a side trip to Canbarra. I am sure you will enjoy it. Good luck.
