E number on labels

How anoying when you want to see what junk is really in your food and drink and when it comes to preservatives you just get a list of E.... is there a table anywhere that translates these numbers into the names of the stuff they represent

Reading the list suggests that the FSA is promoting low standards rather than the opposite!
