Further to my previous posts I took a pregnancy test earlier today and I am pregnant, 4 weeks at the most. Spoke to NHS Direct who told me to go to casualty because of the pains I've been having. They examined me and said nothing looks worrying but gave me some painkillers and said to come back if the pain gets worse or I start bleeding.

I read some of the other comments on here and wasn't very sure whether to ask a question or not but I've not really got anyone to talk to, me and the father just split up and he's moved a long way away, I have no money coming in and can't see how it's feasible for me to have a child right now. Please can anyone advise me?

what painkillers did they prescribe?
Hi Leah, There is only you can decide what to do about your situation.Have you no close friends who you can confide in and ask for support.
I only ask because it sounds unusual to be given painkillers when they did not have access to your medical records from your GP but I may be behind the times. I certainly would never take painkillers in the early stages of pregnancy.

Hi, they gave me codeine phosphate 30mg 1 or 2 each 4-6 hours when needed.

There is one friend I may be able to speak to, another if desperate to get pregnant herself and don't think she'd understand.

Leah, you really need to talk to someone, this is a really hard situation to be coping with on your own. In Leeds, there's a project called Include which helps women in your position, I don't know if there's anything similar where you live but it's worth looking into. Otherwise, try asking at your local CASH clinic if there is anyone they can recommend you talk to. It's also really important to go to your GP (whatever your decision) as you need to make sure you're looking after yourself properly.
Whatever your decision, I hope everything works out ok x

Leah, I have been pregnant a few times, with each pregnancy I have had pains at that start, implantation can cause pain, I think (although dont remember clearly) that my pains lasted for at least the first few months and to be open about it, I would get horrendous cramps in my uterus whilst haveing an orgasm int he early stages too.

I have 2 children, my eldest has never met his biological father as we too split up. I then had another son and since having him have had an abortion. You will always survive and get by, I dont really think money is an issue, there are plenty of loving parents who cant provide everything they would love to for their children. I think the bigger issue is, are you ready to raise a child on your own. Its hard, hard work and you will be putting your life on hold. If I could go back in time, I really truely would not have made the same decisions ( I love my children very much and would never give them up btw). I would have waited till I was really truely in love and possibly married for a couple of years before I had kids.
Hi Leah - how old are you?? I only ask because I was 18 with my 1st child and the father who was adament I kept it left me at 7 mths - now along with Goodsoulette I love my boy and he is doing fantastically well and I have coped however I can't promise that not knowing him, being in your position going back I wouldn't have made another choice. The one thing I will say is that your life will change and you will cope because you have to if you keep the baby and if you don't, well again it will move your life in another direction that may be for the best. None of us can tell the future so sweetie not knowing you I think you have to look into yourself and think about your support structure around you and how you will cope if you are on your own : )
