My best friend says that relationships have "shelf life" and after a certain period of time just seem to "go bad". I do know people whose relationships have survived the test of time, my mum and dad have been together for 40years and still hold hands (ahhh bless) but unfortunately I know more people whose relationships havent lasted. Once the "honeymoon" period is over, it does take a lot of work to keep things together. Im no relationship expert as Ive had two failed long term relationships but Im hoping one day I'll live happily ever after x

I think it takes a lot of love, understanding, tolerance and a sense of humour. You have to accept that no one is perfect - even though you may have thought so in the honeymoon period.

If you can accept the persons faults and love them despite of or even because of them, try not to hold a grudge and realise that some days even with the best will in the world life will not be a romantic dream - it will work............. hopefully!!! Oh and you must also be an eternal optimist!!!!

Sounds like you're having a hard time, hope you're okay.
Relationships need working at just like anything else if its neglected its bound to go bad or sometimes that person just isn't right for you. Stick in there and hope it gets better soon,
