My plumbing!
6 Answers
Am very young skint homeowner who needs a bit of advice. A few months ago my electric shower started cutting out after a few minutes, this was obviously a problem but i ignored it. Now, when i shower the toilet bubbles up like a volcano and so does the sink. Also, when i flush the toilet now it fills right up to near the top with water and takes a while to go down. Don't want to call a plumber unless i absolutely have to because i literally have no money!

If you have to call someone in, phone everybody in the yellow pages ( if you cannot get a personal recommendation ). The prices for call out and the hourly charges wildly vary for thses things. We even heard of one git who charged from when they got the call - not when they pitched up to do the job, which was much, much later!!
If you have a strong stomach have a look under the drain inspection cover in your garden. If that is running clear (not full up ) then the problem is in your house pipes. Do not mix chemical solutions - as some of them with react with each other and give off dodgy fumes. If you know someone with a Costco card ask them to get you the huge bottles of sink and plug hole unblocker, much more economic to purchase this way. Buy an old fashioned plunger and get busy. Don't forget pound shop rubber gloves - you need to chuck 'em afterwards.
