GBH with intent what sentenance is likely

My ex boyfriend has been charged with GBH with intent.
He hit someone in the face he broke his nose, when
the guy fell he broke his wrist.
He thought the guy was someone else (not that is makes
any difference)
What sort of sentenance is he looking at?
He is on probation for drink driving!

GBH with intent is the most serious form as I'm sure you are aware

In 2003 the minimum sentence anybody got for this was 6 months, the maximum was life and the average was 50 months.
This is an indictable offence which is likely to result in a term of imprisonment.
