There is such a thing as a legal christening in the uk. I think it is supposed to be between you and god, so being christened by an ordained priest is all it takes. I'm guessing your birth certificate was issued prior to your baptism and your parents (who i'm guessing are c of e) obviously told the births, marriages and deaths folks that you are c of e. I presume you were christened in an anglican church in wales because that is where you were living at the time?
Hiya both, Thanks for replying. Dawkins, yes my B/C was issued before my christening and the chapel was methodist. We all attended there every sunday as kids, sent by my mother who probably wanted us out of the way while she cooked sunday dinner..lol. It was a lovely little chapel but Im wondering if the minister would have been ordained by C/E and if the water would have been blessed. Im not worried about it,just curious. LOL IAP,you think you're confuzzled:-))
Why would you think that a Methodist minister could possibly be ordained by the Church of England? They are two separate protestant religions. Methodists are Methodists & C of E are Cof E - nothing to do with each other.
If you were christened in a Methodist chapel you were christened a Methodist.
