Having recently bought a DVD/VHS combination recorder I am uncertain as to what the difference is between DVD RW / and DVD Ram. The instructions are a bit vague, could anyone put it in laymans language for me.

DVD R can only be used once - it is a permanent recording. You can record several programmes on it until it is full up.
DVD RAM is yet another format that will not record on your recorder unless it is a RAM recorder.
