What about something Andy Warhol-ish? Maybe his soup cans one?
I think they're asking what type of paint ... not what design

Anyhooo ..i have no idea, but you can get some funky wheelie-bin stickers here http://www.wheelie-bin-art.co.uk/

Good luck!!
well I painted our number on ours with a small pot of acrylic paint I had left over from something else and it seems to have stayed put.
Which will teach me to read a question properly before I post an answer!!!
assuming your bin is your property and not the councils paint it with an enamel or if you use acrylic (which does not take as well on plastic) then roughen the area with sand paper first to give it tooth. Whatever you use if you want it to last then clean the painting area first with mineral spirits or turps or alcohol or if you have none of these then just sope and elbow grease and ensure the area is completely dry if you intend to use and oil based/enamel paint.

Thanks Hollyhocks I have some enamels so I can get on with it, I am no artist but I will have a go. Will I have to put varnish on top?

P.S I am going to have a go at the White pinic table as well.
