All ABers please be aware that there is a destroying virus going round. It is an email attachment called Invitation, with an Olympic Torch. Do Not Open, as it will destroy the C disc completely, even if sent by a friend. This was discovered yesterday bu Macafee. Do not open and turn off the computer. Take care.

McAfee lists it as a hoax http://vil.nai.com/vil/content/v_138711.htm if we forward these without checking we are doing the malicious formulaters (not you) of these hoaxes a favour by spreading unnecessary alarm.

Battersby, I was hardly harsh, I didn't attack netibiza, I was being informative re. the methodology of checking such things, I said please and pointed to links where such information may be found. These things are the cyber equivalent of chain letters promising bad luck if they are not forwarded. There was one very insidious one the other year that got people to delete an important file on their computer as it was said to be a virus file, it was in fact a part of Java (if I recall correctly) and then things wouldn't run properly. You can see that on sites such as AB where people go for advice it is extremely important that that advice be correct.
