am looking for a good cd/dvd based introduction to chess for my 9 and eleven yr olds ....can anyone recommend a good one?

Hi, good that your child wants to learn such a game and isn't frying his brain on xbox's or Playstations.
Its been a while since I've been playing computer chess but you might want to try www.download.com and search on there.
Also, it amazing how many you find on rails in places like Sainsburys and Morrisons; often for only a couple of pounds.

We use to have some hand held chess games as well, can't remember what they are called but will find for you

I have on download, 'Kasparov Chessmate', you won't get better, and if your thinkink of buying an actual game for him, its a few years old now, but I also have 'Chess Champion 2150L', both are excellent for beginners upwards.

My friend is a teacher and has just started a chess club at the school where she works because there were so many kids wanting to learn. It might be worth having a word at your childrens school.

Mr Nose, if you have sufficiently up to date and correctly set up Anti Virus then you wont get infected. I can recommend www.avast.com and www.zonealarm.com for free AV and firewall software.
