I have 6 disc multichanger in my car glovebox, but it is several years old now and does not play my CD-RW discs.I am a complete idiot when it comes to anything to do with cars, so I need some advice please.I would like to replace the unit in my glovebox with an autochanger which will play CD-RW discs.I have looked on ebay and there are changer units and also head units, and I am completely confued as to what I need.Any help would be most appreciated. MY car is a 99 Rover 75 If this is of any help.
Check the make of the one you have, if not obvious, ask Rover (somehow) to tell you that, and the make of the head unit. You could get away with just replacing the CD changer. It may be worth a trip to a car stereo specialist who could give advice, even Halfords...
Look in Halfords (or their website) for a unit that plays mp3 CDs (don't know if any can play mp3 DVDs yet). You can get between 8 and 10 audio CDs on one mp3 CD (a DVD could hold the present top 40 CDs and more).
I don't think you'll notice any difference in quality between mp3s and audio CDs in a car (and they're probably better than FM radio?).
