I never thought I'd say this, but .....

..... my heart went out to Jade Goody last night when her mum was evicted from Big Brother without warning.
What ever effect the producers were aiming for, it can't have been the car crash TV moment when Jade started - and continued for a seriously uncomfortable length of time - breaking her heart because her mum had been booted without warning.
It was cruel and unpleasant TV - I really hope this is not a sign of things to come on 'reality' TV.

I am not BB fan myself ~ I enjoy the celeb one as I like to see the 'real' person behind the celeb but I only watch the 'catch-up' episodes. However, I digress...lol. Do these people not understand the concept of BB.. have they not read '1984' or at least heard about it?
Just a thought :o)

Andy - not sure if you have ever seen the German film Das Experiment (it's pretty dark), but every year BB is getting one step closer. Family/Servants, Guards/Prisoners.
Last night was unnecessarily cruel. I hope the producers take Jade into the diary room and tell her on the quiet that her mum is fine.
Normally I think the contestants sign up for it therefore they have to accept what they are getting into, but the Jade family situation is different.
Emotionally Jackie she is not as strong as a lot of contestants and Jade knows this, Jade will obviously worry herself stupid about this, after all, she has had to look after her mum all her life. Jade also knows how to play the media game, Jackie faces getting really manipulated out there, which will also trouble Jade.
Its sad.

Pippa 68 -
Jade has gone on record as saying that she enjoyed her original BB experience, and she has obviously enjoyed her success afterwards, and thought her mum would enjoy a similar experience.
In that, Jade has been perfectly correct, her mum has thoroughly enjoyed her time in the house, but neither can have elgislated for the way in which the eviction was carried out.
Yes, Jade is fully aware of the way the eviction process works, and would no doubt have coached her mum in the approach to the event - had they both had some warning, and that is where the cruelty comes in.
I felt really sorry for Jade, to see her crying so much and for so long made deeply uncomfortable viewing - well beyond the remit of people who assume they are aware of certain systems within the game - prior wardning of eviction being just one.

I agree with you andy ~ however since Jade's first encounter with the BB house there have been more and more 'surprises' landed on the housemates..more and more cruel as each season comes.
If it were my mother, and she was the sensitive or volatile type I wouldn't have allowed her in there. BTW I am not totally unfeeling ~ I did feel a little sorry for Jade, however it wasn't as if Jackiey as being cast out into the wilderness or thrown into Room 101 ;o)

I also agree with you there, andy. I don't enjoy watching anyone made to feel the way Jade did..hence I don't watch BB that often, as I know the concept of the game.
Maybe BB didn't know Jade would react that way (doubtful).
Actually, the part I found the hardest was BB not answering Jackieys question (Do the others know about this) in the Diary Room. But of course, this is also part of the games concept :o(

Jade Goody has admitted on tv that she can make herself cry convincingly and at will. If she was that bothered about her mum she could have walked out of the house at anytime. The contestants are not prisoners as Donny, Ken and now Leo have walked out quite easily. Jade wants to win BB and that is more important to her than her mum. I don't think that Jade's heart was breaking.
I felt so sorry for Jade and Jackiey, dont forget that Germaine, and shilpa were also up for eviction what would big bro have done if any one of them were picked to be evicted, I am sure to god that they would never have let them go out with no shoes and drab clothes, they would have announced it to the house and let them get ready to go out, why do celebrities think they should get preferential treatment, never let them forget that when they were a nobody it was us the ordinary person who put them where they are now I dont believe that there is anybody better than myself. so there
I agree with cherrybomb!
It's not like she died or anything so why was everyone acting like it? I for one was glad she went as I was beginning to find her offensive towards Shilpa who I quite like!
Jade could've walked out if she really was that bothered but I suspect it was all for the camera's anyway.

I think they should have given her 5 mintes to get her shoes or get someone to pass them into the diary room. It was ridiculous having someone going out with their top up their back and with no shoes on. It looked really awful that she had no shoes on for the interview with Davina.
Car Crash Television is right. Yes Jade could have walked out but her mum didn't want that and coulodn't believe how upset Jade was. Jachieq did well on the interview and came across stronger than I expected her to be.
remeber the psychologists of the original big brother sereis were really worried about putting Jade into the house as they thought she wouldn't cope.

Hello Miss Inquiry
I have been joining in the debate about the current behaviour of Housemates elsewhere on the AB.
My opinion is that Jade is not specifically racist, but she does feel vulnerable and out of her depth with Shilpa, and her reaction is to lash out verbally (hopefully not physically - Shilpa is a karate black-belt!) and this obviously shows her in a very bad light.
The nature of such an enclosed environment is to ensure that minor issues become major points of conflict - as happened last night. I think Shilpa's dignity and desire for respect is something totally alien to Jade, who is unsure how to react, so reacts with verbal violence, looking for the backing of her peer group.
I still feel sorry for Jade for what happened over her mum, and I am not at all surprised by her reaction to the current circumstances - which is probably going to hee her evicted tomorrow.
The dynamic shift after Jade's evicion - should it happen - will be interesting to see.
