i have had my car converted to run on lpg -it is still a petrol engine- so it is now a dual fuel car and was told by swansea that my insurance would probably go down ,i have just informed my company and they have slapped an excess charge of 28.00 onto my policy as it is classed as a modification -thank you sheilas wheels has any one else ran into this bl****y rip off??
I would expect it has gone up because should you have an accident your car will be more expensive to put right due to the extra fittings, gas tank, engine modifications etc
I cant really see a reason why anyone should expect their insurance to reduce?
However you should now be able to enter the london congestion zone at no charge, presuming you have informed dvla
Unless the rules have changed, you won't be able to use the Channel Tunnel either. Still with the money you will save on fuel each week, perhaps 28 is not too bad.
I wonder Sheilas Wheels would quote on a classic American car as they use one in their Ad. :-)
