The closest to a meaning of life was Gods final message to his creation (written in 40 foot high letters of fire in the quentulus quazgar mountains) which reads "We apologise for the inconvenience"
I personally agree with the statement that if someone ever finds out exactly what the universe is for and why it is here it will instantly vanish and be replaced with something even more bizarrely inexplicable.
Monty Python did give an answer - I think it was Eric Idle dressed as a woman, just before the final credits, who said, "Well, that's the end of the film. Now, here's the meaning of life. [...] Well, it's nothing very special. Uh, try and be nice to people, avoid eating fat, read a good book every now and then, get some walking in, and try and live together in peace and harmony with people of all creeds and nations." :)
