First of all, what did the vet say (s)he thought was wrong and what pills were given? have the dogs had the entire course? if they are boy dogs and a lady dog is in heat locally, that can put dogs off their food. Have you changed their diet or routine? have you started using one of these new scented washing up liquids, they can leave a scented residue on things, strong enough for a dog to pick up. Has a member of the household left, eg to go to college, have you got any new household members, have you moved house? All basic stuff I know but I hope it helps.
Headlines: "Four German Shepherds Starve Themselves to Death". I doubt it. Possibly they have finished growing and their appetites are naturally altering. It is often recommended that dogs have one day per week without food.
Hi, I have 2 German Shepards, I find they do tend to go of their food, I usually just change their diet a little, this seems to work, when they do this I also give them one day with no food, the vet said that it was good to do this as they would not eat every day when in the wild.
I have a two Year old female who like her father has was just diagnosed with exocrine pancreatic insuffiency. She started losing a lot of weight and looked terrible. Thanks to our breeder calling us to tell us her father had it and they were not going to breed him again because it could be genetic. I brought her in to the vet and a blood test confirmed my fear. she had it also. Now all I have to do is mix enzymes in her food with every feeding. She is not wasting away any more.
