Thanks again both. Im confusing ya sorry. What I meant was,my friend had another lung function test after what the consultant had told her. This was the test that showed good result's after she'd given up the smokes so this is why I cant understand her going back on them again. Yeah, I think I'll write her a letter as I got a bit angry with her. I gave up smoking 20 years ago and know how hard it is yet I told her off:-//
HI daisy, It's heartbreaking to watch someone you care about self destruct doing something they know they are not supposed to.
My Nan finally gave up smoking after the death of my Grandad from lung cancer. He was a smoker for most of his life and when he went to have a check up for his persistent cough he was told the news that he had very progressive lung cancer, from the fags and working as a builder in the 60's. He did refuse Chemo stating that the money should go to someone who needed it better then him as he felt it was self inflicted. We lost him 2 months later and he was only 65.
It is also too late for my nan as she has COPOD and emphysema and suffers badly from it but she knows she will never smoke another cigarette.
My boyfriends Aunt had the cheek to say to me last week that smoking does not kill people, it is all a load of rubbish. She reckoned that because her mother was a heavy smoker and lived to 92 that it wont harm people. It's ignorance like that that really bugs me.
I hope your friend can realise how much you mean to her and that you hate standing by and watching her make her life go quicker than it should do.
