I'm marrying a Cambodian bird in July. Does anyone know what the crack is with getting her back to the UK? And for a bonus question can I get anyone else in her family to come here and work if they've got office computer other skills?

Or is it doomed by the Home Office?

The way I read this is that she gets limited leave to remain in the UK for 2 years whilst they check it's not a scam. Then 2 years later she can either get an extension for another 2 years or if she's been maried to you for 2 years apply for indefinate leave to remain.

I don't think her status will have any bearing on applications made by her family - they'd still need a work permit sponsored by an employer

Hi joko, that was a bit tongue in cheek, but from what i've seen, and I work for a big company, with quite a few male employees married to Far Eastern women, who tend to come from families who are financially struggling, and they are constantly sending money to the girls families, to give them a better standard of living.

What sort of bird is she....turkey, pigeon, budgie? I should imagine the easiest way to get her into the UK is in a cage with a vets certificate.
