Book Title Needed

Someone recommended a book to me a while ago but I can't remember what it's called. It's about an obituary writer who composes famous people's obituaries ready for when they die, but every time he does one, that person actually dies. Any suggestions?

If this isn't the book you were thinking of you should read it anyway. It's absolutely wonderfully written and so original.
