Distended Bowel!

I had an exploratory operation in december and they found i had a distended bowel - what does this mean?
Lately my stomach is making some odd noises, like im hungry, it rumbles but its doing it after ive eaten then i get pain too?
What can i do to try and sort this out??

were you given a reason for your bowel being distended ? any follow on treatment ?

Nope! they were looking specifically at cysts on my ovaries but said they spotted my bowel was distended!
