i have just seen some 60 geese heading north i live in west yorks.
do any of you birders etc know of any indications ie weather, temperature or anything associated with this movement.
i recall this in the past but not this early.

all depends what they were!! May be as simple as moving to a feeding ground or to a roosting site. The big travellers- the Brent and the Pink Footed, shouldnt be migrating for a while - and sixty isnt a huge number as geese go.
