Utterly reliable, actually very good to drive, although not terrifically fast, as you would expect. The handling and ride are great. The boot held six Tesco bags full of shopping no problem, and you can seat four adults in it OK, although it is a bit tight for legroom in the back, but again, you would expect that, and its no worse than a Polo. Go for a Ka2 at mimimum, as it has the essential power steering plus electric windows and central locking. Sure, the looks are weird, or maybe their just different!, personally, I like that, its not just another little box like so many other little cars. Great car, silly name, never mind, many other manufacturers get it the other way round!
I've had mine about 18mths from new and I love it. I only have the basic model so it doesn't have central locking or electric windows but does have power steering.
I've just been away for four days and it fitted 3 adults and luggage quite comfortably and had no problem doing nearly 90mph up the motorway.
I would recommend a Ka - My sister has a Ka1 - a bit basic but a good runaround, my youngest son has a Ka Collection - a few extras, its his first car and he loves it, My wife has the girl racer version - the SportKa SE - a bgger engine and lots of extras - and she loves it to bits. I am 6ft2in and have been very comfortable on long journeys both as driver and passenger. Safe - never crashed one but they are safe. Reliable - Yes very. Good cars - matter of opinion but yes a good car that is both practicle and fun.
