In my opinion there is nothing spectacular yet (I have played most of them).

Gears of war is decent enough but doesn't hold a great deal of long term appeal (on-line multiplayer is really good however).

Saints Row is decent enough but gets a bit repetative.

The one game I really did enjoy was Full Auto, but again there was little long term appeal once I completed it.

Obviously opinions vary, for example I found Full Auto to be one of the worst games available for the 360.
Personally I have enjoyed the following:

Condemned
Gears Of War
Lost Planet
Rainbow Six: Vegas
Prey
FEAR
Call Of Duty 2
Dead Rising
Need For Speed Most Wanted
Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
Dead Or Alive 4

I found all these to be worth the asking price! Other highly rated games include:

Fight Night 3
Burnout Revenge
Viva Pinata
Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter
Splinter Cell: Double Agent
Project Gotham Racing 3

There are many playable demos available for download via Xbox Live or of course with the official Xbox 360 magazine. And also don't forget the arcade games you can download (new games & classics including Street Fighter 2 & Doom)

I'd definitely recommend 'Dead Rising' and 'Gears of War'.

Oh and 'Rainbow Six : Vegas' for xbox live :D

And don't forget Hexic (which comes free with it) what a cracking puzzle game.

wowo you must really take some impressing.
Ive played GoW thru 3 times on single player and multiplayer will always keep you coming back.rainbow 6 vegas is also excellent.

i would say full auto isnt that good but then it isnt my cup o' tea.

battlefield 2 for multiplayer.

most of these are Xbox 360 exclusives. Whereas the PS3 appears to be loosing its exclusives at an alarming rate with rumours that because of limited market penetration Metal Gear Solid may be a multi platform release

I love Battlefield 2 on live and still play it once or twice a day even now !

If MGS ceased to be a PS3 exclusive that would be a major nail in its coffin.If theres even a 1% chance of this happening you can bet that MS have their cheque book on the table.

Oblivion is ok for single plyer, but there is no online (only private chat and stuff)
Need for speed carbon
splinter cell double agent
are both good, but i stick to the original HALO 2
it has to be the best multiplayer game ever to be made.
Gears of war is also very good.
