answering questions?

do people tend to not bother with questions that appear to already have a number of replies?
if a question has, say 6 replies already would you not bother to look at it as you think its been dealt with already or do you look anyway?
do you only go to unanswered questions?
thanks

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.I go to any thread which grabs my attention , regardless of how many replies it has. I must admit though , I tend to avoid the threads which have say , over 100 answers , simply because I can't be bothered trawling through all the answers - unless it's a really interesting thread ......... which more often than not , it isn't.
Sometimes the answer you would have given has already been posted, so it seems pointless to repeat someone else. Many people, however, don't seem to read other people's posts and the same things get said again and again.
Sometimes the question needs specialist or personal knowledge, so that cuts down the number of replies.
My fav section is news. I add the occasional reply but mainly I enjoy the personal views, venomous replies and how opinions never seems to change, however well they are "proven" or otherwise!

answer number ten, hmmm apparently not... If something has 100 plus answers then I dont bother. It gets me when people give the same answer to a closed question, sometimes hours apart when its not cross posting. You know something like... "Which actress plays Pauline Fowler in Eastenders" then 10 people give the very same answer. Why????????
i only ask because my last two serious questions were largely filled with unrelated chat and few actually adressed the question let alone answer it.
now, i don't generally mind this too much - especially if its a good joke or something, and as long as i get some proper answers, but it occurred to me that if people would then not even look at my question because they assume its been answered, then i would not be too pleased.
at least i now know many will not ignore a question that appears to have lots of replies
cheers

Agree with responses about being attracted by the subject line. The thing is, in my experience, if a question has more than a few answers, say 30 or 60, usually the thread has disintegrated into a few friends talking sh$t about what they have eaten that day, or who they think is an alias for somebody else. So no, I woudn't bother to get involved in that usually.
Hi joko, I'm posting this to an old question of yours, hoping you will see it, without drawing attention from anyone else.
I know in AB we all have an opinion and we dont always agree, its often the banter that makes this site fun.
Your answers usually share my view, thats why I'm posing this...I think you may have made a mistake today.
The lady that posted the direction to Health and Fitness has a really tough decision on her hands and was just hoping some of us would go and help.
I expect you didnt get the chance to look at B&S and thought it was probably just a jokey type of question - which is what we all tend to use B&S for.
Please will you have a look at her question and maybe send her another answer?
Thanks.

the topics are there for a reason.
why post a question, and then go some where else to tell everyone else to go and look at it?
all this does it push other questions off the page.
why not just post it in B&S in the first place?
i understand your concern, but people will answer the question if they want to, they don't need to be directed.
