LIke many I was extremely saddened by the death last year of Alan Freeman. I used to thoroughly enjoy Pick Of The Pops and would like some recordings of shows etc to bring back the good old days. Does anyone else think there should be at least a tribute CD?

Yes I do A.T.! There has been a glut of tribute CDs in the wake of Peel's death - and why not, 'cos Peeley was bloody Great - but none relating to Fluff, or "TV on the radio, Thomas the Vance" (alright he was a bit of a lemon, but I coulndn't help liking him).
Maybe AF's and TV's association with "Classic Rock" and Chart shows causes them to be retrospectively underrated, or even downgraded. Not as cool or groundbreaking as Uncle John P.? In the overall scheme of Popular Music definitely not, but all 3 played stuff that would otherwise NOT have been heard by the great British public , and fuelled our subcultures, especially in the '70's and '80's. There's only Kershaw and Radcliffe left now...
So yes - Fluff deserves a tribute CD. Some Boston, some Prog, a dash of classical...
