Lubricating side window
1 Answers
The drivers door window on my Astra is getting very stiff. It is a manual window, and a while ago the handle came apart because of it, though it clipped back in again.
How do you lubricate these. I had a similar problem once on a Rover 214 and put WD 40 in all the places I could think, but then the window stared dropping open as I was driving along.

There will be a plastic film which should very gently peel off - dont rip it as this stops rain and water coing into the car door panel.
You will then see the gearing and the levers that drop the window and push it back up. A drop of three in one on each of these hinges or any moving part should do the job or a smear of grease will do the job too. WInd it up and down whilst the plastic film is off and keep greasing/oiling the joints until it's free.
