Can someone advise me.
I haveOutlook Express pre-installed on my P.C.
I have ordered a copy of Office 2000 professional suite.
When I install it,will it interfere with my existing E-Mail system

I should have included in the question that the new Office suite includes another copy of Outlook

The version you get free with Windows is Outlook Express and the version in Office is Outlook.

They are slightly different. The one in Office has a calendering system which Express does not.

But Express has a newsgroup viewer which Office does not.

I dont think they share files or directories so I think you CAN have both on your PC.

When you come to install Office you can choose NOT to install Outlook. Dont take the defaults but select the Custom option (I think it is called).

Here you can choose which parts of Office you do and do-not want to install.

So choose NOT to install Outlook if you wish.

Can I ask why you have gone for Office 2000, it is of course three versions back now (we have had Office XP, Office 2003 and now Office 2007)?

Did you get it at a good price somewhere.

btw, nothing wrong with it and for most people it will do all they want.

Hi Vehelpfulguy....Thank's so much for your answer. I am a computer novice & your info. gives me confidence to install the office.

With regards to your queery about buying an old version, the reasons are that I am familiar with the 2000 version, it does everything that I want and more, also it only cost me �84 incl. p&p (New).

P.S. We both answered the question about panasonic DVD recorders...coincidence!
