out of warranty. Can i still claim?
Hope someone on here can help.
I have a focus c-max, a great car in general. When car was 2 years old i had a replacement EGR valve because mine was faulty. Soon after Ford redesigned the EGR valve and other people experiencing same fault after that date were given the new design.
My cars warranty ran out yesterday. I had the car serviced last week and MOTd and i mentioned that the car was showing similar problems to those it had just before the last EGR gave up.
The Ford service centre serviced and MOTd the car but found no record of any problems on the diagnostics.
I collected the car and was told that there had been no problems and all was well. The car drove OK for me that eve.
Saturday eve my partner (an on call fireman) had to rush to station. He found that if he accelerated hard (as he is inclined to do when lives could be in danger) the revs dropped off immediately and car threatened to stall, it almost caused an accident as he overtook a parked car.
Now if i drive it its fine as i dont rev hard at all, but when i do try to put my foot down the same thing happens.
So, what are my chances of this being dealt with under the warrenty of the car. As I said, it ran out yesterday but of course i couldnt contact the service centre.
Any ideas?
