After a gall bladder operation how long must it be left before the person who has had the op can safely fly? Ticket is booked for June, fmy riend will have her operation in late February, so will she be fit to fly over for her June holiday?

She should ask her doctor/hospital - you'll get an authoritative answer rather than muddled hearsay that might or might not apply to her here.
Should be, but depends on whether it's a keyhole (laparoscopic) procedure, or open surgery. Just to confuse matters, in a very small percentage of cases, if the surgeon can't visualise what he needs to see, keyhole surgery may have to be converted to open surgery. If op is uneventful, she should be o.k., but any surgery carries a small risk.
why not ask the surgeon ?post op.
