where theres a will
1 Answers
my wife and i have made a will but my personal income of state pension and works pension go imto a current account that is only in my name.
a friend has told her that in the event of my death she would have a problem getting access to this and should be in both our names.
i have no problem with this but when questioned by the solicitor this was never mentioned as a necessity during drawing up the will.
anyone have an insight.
many thanks.

The bank cannot give her access until their own legal bods clear it.
It's much easier just to change it to a joint account now.
Legally there's no need, but practically there is, particularly if most of your cash is tied up in your account - the last thing she will need after you go is to be skint for a few weeks.
