I happen to agree with many of the beliefs of Islam and I'm sure a lot of people do. But although I could be a Muslim, I could never be an Arab. No offence to Arabs, of course, but I'm not one and I'd prefer a mosque that looked like a kirk or church on the outside and had prayers inside written in English, not Arab script. This way it wouldn't feel like I was adopting a 'foreign' religion.
Firstly you need to do it because you believe in the religon, not because your bf is a muslim, this is most important!!To become a muslim, you simple declare the faith that "there is no other god exept, God and that Muhammed is the messenger of God" everything else that you do will be judged upon by god. If you read and truly believe and understand what you read then you wont find any of it difficult, the only thing i warn you is to be careful of what others tell you and advise you. Everything you need to know is in the Quran, it covers everything, so if you have doubt about something someone has told you or have a question then look for the answers in there. Good luck and seek knowledge for yourself....
