I understand the points are to do with fat/calorie content but I didnt know that you are allocated points according to your weight. How does this work? Is it like 2 stone = 1 point?

For example, someone weighing 15 stone could possibly lose weight by eating 2000 calories per day whereas someone who was only 11 stone probably would need to eat a lot less than that to lose weight and so they would be allowed less points. (I'm just guessing these figures btw). As the 15 stone person lost weight, the number of points would go down.

Ie, if you weigh 10 stone that allows you 10 points, even if its 10st 10lbs it would still be 10 points.
But you also have to go by your sex (ie, males get 9 points, females get 3 points), your age, how hall you are & what kind of job you have. Then you add up all the points for each & that's how many you are allowed each day.
