Had enough!
That's it - done working in cr*ppy call-centres and taking abuse from all types of idiots on a daily basis! Can anyone tell me how you become a dole-scrounger? Those guys have it pretty good- free rent - money thrown at them and all the time off they want! Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Secondly, Robbie, all call centres are not the same.
After my first experience of a call centre I thought about the dole thing but then got offered a job at a call centre doing admin, now i'm on the phone all day and the customers are nice!
You get the odd D*ck that think they know everything but on the whole, its a pretty cool place to be and the money aint too bad either!
Look around first!
AlFas is correct, you would need to get laid off to claim the old rock 'n' roll. Though you could have a delay if you were fired for swearing at customers.
Try doing next to nothing and being as lazy as possible until they get sick of you low productivity and let you go.
If nothing else it'll be good practice for all those day's in front of Trisha (or whoever it is that occupies our daytime tv schedules these days).
Good luck.
Guys - great suggestions all - especially from your good self ALFas - I'll keep y'all up to date. Worked in a buncha call centres over the last 6 years, some good, most bad though- and same as being on the dole bmhouston it's something very hard to get out of. Ah well - such is life. Being a dole scrounger still sounds good though- although watching daily Trisha might be a good preventative! Cheers y'all - thanks for calling and have a good day! (That's about the fiftieth time I've said that today...!)
Although saying that ALFas raises a good point- what's the best way to get the sack? Any ideas?
What you want to do is go on long-term sick with something.Statutory Sick Pays more than Income Support, no-one will hassle you to get a job, and you don't have to sign on once a fortnight. You'll need to arrange housing and council tax benefit.
Two points: Firstly, it's actually more soul-destroying than working.Secondly, it won't look too good on your C.V. when you finally grow up and decide to go back to work!
You will not be entitled to Jobseeker's Allowance if you lose yir job due to mis-conduct and Sanctions can be applied for up to 26 weeks if you leave without just cause (that means you won't get JSA for the period of the Sanction.)
If, however you're not fit for work because you're depressed or stressed for example and yir doctor will gie you a sick-note, you can claim Incapacity Benefit and possibly Income Support.
Find a temp job, and take that one instead of your current one. Then when the time's up, you are neither sacked nor have given up our job.
If you think you can live on 60 quid a week and don't mind being encouraged on a fortnightly basis to work as a security guard, it'll be great.
No need to worry about Trisha and boredom, by the way- official incompetence will ensure that you are occupied for a reasonable proportion of your day with filling out the same form you did last week, and phoning every 5 minutes for 3 days to get through to Housing Benefits to sort out the latest c**k up
Enjoy!!
Guys! Good news! No - I've not been caught in the corridor getting a b*** j** from one of the cleaners (unfortunately) but a better answer has come along- in my frustration I put in for a transfer to a different department and through some miracle (I think God is an ABer!) I got the job. Monday I start training and a week later I no longer have to deal with complaints and/or shouty people any more! Hurrah! Thanx again for your advice on this one - who said venting pointlessly never got you anywhere?
And acw - yes I do work in at inbound customer services - outbound cold-calling is possibly the worst job ever and you'd be surprised some of the people call-centres will employ for this.
