If ( lets say a sparrow )from the UK met a sparrow from (lets say France) would they be able to understand each other

Yes. All (house)sparrows understand each other's visual and verbal language. Even one from UK and one from Australia are very much the same species.

There have been many in-depth research topics on this subject, and the experts have come to the conclusion that birds do speak in different accents, even within the UK. I seem to remember hearing that birds from different areas, and even countries, can teach each other different tongues. It makes me assume that it is cruel to keep even small birds in isolation in small cages...even budgies, which are flocking creatures. They are normally mocked by their stoopid looking owners yacking 'preety bird' etc...personally I think people should be banned from keeping budgies and other flocking birds in captivity.

And what if the sparrow was like a swallow, (French or UK-ian, or African or South American). Then any language barrier would depend if it was laden or unladen.

bardotagogo yes I am 'green' but this does not mean I am 'mean', please except my apologies. However my answers are not out of bounds, I have tried to help and inform, however, it is true my undertone is some what dry, it's called wit and sorry for confusing it with rudeness.

Birds:
Research shows that language organization is exclusive to humans, however gregarious birds can be trained to discriminate between two different patterns of organizing. This would proove that humans are not unique in this ability, prompting the theory that birds do indeed understand each other from around the world.

I am a greenie too. I find most of the people on here very friendly and I like the comedy aspect of their answers particularly in conjunction with true answers, as I witnessed wildwood did last night with you. Its a pity not everyone has a sense of humour and as I've come back noticed the editing and removal of other answers. Shame.
