As my Mother was taking her last breath she quietly said " Your Dad's standing by me" then with a sigh she was gone and with a smile on her face. As for me, Im not afraid to die, I just dont want to be there when it happen's..lol My choice would be to go quietly in my sleep.
Not really. It's like how i came to terms with my fear of giving birth with my first child. Millions of women have done it before me and millions will be doing it after me. Same with death, newborns do it(tragically) old people do it, middle age people do it. We all have to do it and many have done it before. Dying is easy(i guess) it's the unknown that is hard and scary. Actually dying isn't painful it's the method in which we die that might be.
I think about dying sometimes, more so now (I'm only 43!) and assume I'll think about it more as age progresses (as if that matters in todays society) I agree that dying must be easy as so many people do it. What I not so much worry about, but feel uncomfortable about , is, if I died, I know where everything is, daft things like the tweezers or the kids school photos., and also someone will have to go through my stuff , and I wonder what memory each item would bring to them, and My clothes would they be thinking I liked her in that or I hated that top! Being more honest than when I was alive, and potentially my most treasured or favourite things get carted off to the charity shop. So the answer is yes but not in a morbid way.
