Can you please tell me the theme tune to the Cancer Advert. The one with Roy Castle lifting up a child with luckemia its not the eva cassidy one or cat stevens, it seems more classical. Please help. It was on around two years ago. It sound a bit like the theme tune to platoon the movie.

I think it was the theme music that's familiar from Platoon - it's called Adagio for Strings and it's by a composer called Barber. There's also a version where it's arranged for a choir, not sure which one is on the ad. You should find it on most classical music compilations.

Hi kalise25 I said it sounded like the theme tune from Platoon but it certainly wasn't it. It also sounded like Ennio Morricone's theme from the 'The Mission'(you know the one that was part of the main theme from 'Good Will Hunting'. Thanks for your help anyway.
The 2002 Cancer Research advert used Peter Gabriel's music taken from the album 'Passion'. The titles were 'Before this night' and 'With this Love' and were performed with a choir.

Hi Cetti. I have listened to both of the tunes that you mentioned none of them were the ones I am afraid. Its got Roy Castle in the advert about to hug a child with Cancer. Its quite a sad tune, but very moving. If you have anymore ideas please post them through. Cheers
