What do the muslims think of us?

I would like to ask, what do the muslims think of us? Just assume that I am a non muslim, athiest, who does not want to be confined by any religious sect, I have no preconception of anyones thought`s or beliefs but I try really hard to get along with everybody in a friendly manner. Would I be accepted in their community?

not many Muslims on here.... I can't think why not. Anyway, not all Muslims think the same way, any more than all Christians do. So most will be happy with you, some will think you're an infidel.

I'm not Muslim but was (still am but don't see him much) good friends with one last year. I'm accepted by him and I accept him for being Muslim (I am a secularist agnostic). I'm not sure if his family would though.

Jno is right, not all Musl's think the same way. I think they're brought up to think the same (mostly) way but it doesn't mean it's true.

What do you mean by 'us'?

You seem to think its a 'them' and 'us' situation.
I'm sure 99.99% of Muslims view the rest of population in the same way that you and i do. I would would hope that most people ie. 'us' also try really hard to get along with everybody be they Muslim or not.

The same percentage of Muslims who are intent on wrong doing can also be found in the population as a whole.
I would say because of elements of their faith insist that Muslims should help others, if you really wanted to you would indeed be accepted in their community.

By being part of a religion you accept that you are part of something while other people who do not hold those same beliefs are not part it.

What does the muslim faith and it`s teachings think of, or how does it regard disbelievers of it`s religion....not that I give a flying toss, but is the media stirring up a frenzy and is the growing trend of anti-muslim feeling misplaced or justified??????

I'm not religious, but if i was i would want to be Hindu or a Druid, as what i have seen and heard about them seem to be kind and peace loving.
All that i have experienced of the Muslim religion is hatred, violence, inequality, and strife. Sort out the bad Muslims, then Muslims will be more accepted.
Don't be afraid to dob them in.
