I use Hob Bright and kitchen towel which does the job very well. If there is burnt on food then Fairy Power Spray will remove it. Both found in Tesco.
I use the same as Hawkwalk - Hob Bright.
A handy tip though is if you run out use baking powder. Get a damp piece of kitchin roll then dab it in the baking powder.
It does work!!
My ceramic hob is 8 years old and looks as good as new.

When I first had it I used hob bright and hob conditioning powders.

After 12 months or so, I started to use a stainless steel scoured moistened in soapy water. Rub lightly all over - dry with kitchen towel. Fantastic - no scratching, and no chemicals.
try that tesco powerblaster. it gets all sorts of crap off.
get some else to do it and sit down with a book
I also use Hob Brite - it works a treat!
Hey, i was always slaving over mine to try and get it clean, when a mates mum came over, and said when it is clean, (ie custed bits scraked off - i use a razor blade....) use some kitchen roll, and white vinigar water. get a spray bottle, fill up to 2 inches with white vinigar, and the rest water, spray on surface, (works to get shiny work tops shiny again too) and buff off with a couple of peices of kitchen roll. MUCH EASIER THAN BUFFING WITH A TOWEL!!

They are a pain in the a** to keep clean though!
I would suggest forget trying to clean the blumming things cause mine's never clean. Just buy a new one :p
