COMPEED treatment for cold sores
2 Answers
Has anyone tried these cold sore patches yet? Do they work?
They don't seem to have acyclovir in them but is it not the acyclovir that makes zovirax and the other creams work?

Anyway, i kept the patch on for quite a few hours and nothing developed any more.
I would definitely try it out !!

I have just received Two patches as a free sample. I got these from a thread off [email protected] unfortunately they did not arrive in time to treat the sore I have at moment, but at the first tingling next time I`ll give them a go.
They are at http://www.compeed.co.uk - They reccomend that you leave the patch on till it starts to come off (8-10 hours) and you need 15 patches to treat one outbreak. Thats a full packet which makes it sound quite lengthy.
I have been using Superdrug Lip & Cold Sore Cream which really is effective so long as I remember to apply every Hour. I keep the tube in the fridge and it lasts for ages. It is the most economical.
