Why not have a passport section and just have a banner that says: YES YOU DO NEED A BLOODY PASSPORT TO TRAVEL BETWEEN DIFFERENT COUNTRIES!

We should applaud their resourcefulness instead of posting smart comments. Just ignore questions which you think are stupid. Otherwise try to treat every question as if it a genuine one.
I am not reffering to people with genuine passport queries. I agree there is a lot of confusion with them. But the amount of people asking whether they need a passport to travel abroad (not within the EU) is getting out of hand. You think I'm being smart? No. irritated that questions are being pushed off the recent 20 list by such queries. maybe as you mention DOB it is children or autistic people asking, but if somebody can type then they can read and realise similar questions have been repeatedly answered. Please also note my post was meant to be a light hearted joke. not a dig at other site users. if i offend sorry.
It's great to see that someone has read my comments and has taken them on board. Thanks DOB.
I can appreciate it was only meant as a joke MC HP, but as you can see it prompted remarks like Cretin from ewand, who I can only assume took you seriously.

I think DOB is right on this one:-

MC HP's point was that the same question gets asked (and answered) over and over again. For example, recently, there have been questions which are basically asking, "Do I need a passport to travel between Scotland and Northern Ireland". The answer (which has been given) is this:
"No, you do not need a passport to travel between Scotland and Northern Ireland because they are both parts of the United Kingdom. However, if you fly, the airline will require photo identity (for security reasons) and a passport is a good way of providing this."
The list of similar questions will pop up when the poster clicks "Submit" and the poster is asked if he/she still wants to post the question.
Many people seem to find it easier to click "Yes" rather than look for the answer to their question in the list.
Isn't this umbelievable? The very same people who have been developing great insight into "issues" which may cause a user to post an apparently "silly" question make comments like "who I can only assume took you seriously"?? Touch judgemental? I was very aware of the context of MC HP's question, and totally concur with the points raised by DOB and pinus, however I merely lighthearted vented some "fauz" anger at the fact that someone was wondering if you needed a passport to go from america to ireland.
