Some years ago, I had pre-cancerous cells diagnosed after a smear test. My GP referred me to our local hospital, where they removed them by cone biopsy. I have had no further problems, but have regular smear tests for obvious reasons.
My sister also had pre-cancerous cells & the same precedure as I did & she has had no recurring problems either.
If you or your daughter are not happy with the advice given, you could always ask for a second opinion - even if only to put your minds at rest.
Let's know how things go Neti, although I'm sure your daughter will be absolutely fine. Take care. -x-
