peugeot 206 heater matrix

my daughter has a 206, she found a puddle on the passenger sie floor; could this be matrix leaking? if so, how difficult to do? and is it expensive. thanks

Could also be the seal on the windscreen - locate the heater matrix - if you find there is fluid coming from it dab a lttle on the end of your finger and taste it - this sounds daft but the anti-freeze in the coolant will taste sweet/sugary. - no need to swallow mouthfuls of the stuff.

it could also be that the drains infront of the windscreen are blocked. worth checking.

I used to have a Peugeot 309 and it had water in the passenger footwell all the time due to a rainwater leak. I tried everything but couldn't stop it.

I ended up using a club hammer to make a dip and drilling a hole to let it out! (It was an old car)

is she loosing coolent from the engine? the matrix is linked to the engine so it should be visible in the filler bottle if its a significant amount

also would just like to point out that antifreeze is poisonous and will kill you should you drink it - the 1st posted didnt make this clear
