Visa Help Please

Hello i am a South african with a French Girlfriend , i am on a 3 month holiday visa in France now but would like to stay in France longer to be with my Girlfriend....How and where can i apply now for a working visa , should i go back to South Africa and do it from there!? Please can anyone help or give me details of what i should do? Thank you very Much Hendrik
