Do colours affect your mood?
13 Answers
I have to regularly visit a house which has a lot of red in it, Red carpet almost throughout and at least 3 walls in a different shade of red, within 20 minutes of arriving I always feel very angry, the only thing I can put it down to is the colour, I am fine on arriving and again when I leave though it can take about 10 mins to adjust, does colour affect anyone else? Or do the men in white coats need to come and take me away? Ha Ha!

Some people really believe in colour therapy. White is calming, and I believe orange and yellow are supposed to amke you happy and low and behold red makes you angry, purple is a violent colour (often picked by serial killers or those with frontal lobe damage to paint). I thought this sort of stuff was a load of rubbish, until one day I walked down the high street and a guy was bashing at a huge gong, and it made me feel instantly relaxed, and I was on my lunchbreak and that never happens. I went and spoke to him and go for a gong shower every now and then, and it is absolutely amazing.
I'm definitely a believer in colour affecting mood - but the men in white coats haven't caught me yet!
I read once that red, especially the brighter shades, is a colour that makes you want to 'hurry up'. Apparently if you have a lot of unwanted callers you should paint your front door red & they won't wait around very long for you to answer...lol! Then again, red is supposed to be a sensual colour when used in the bedroom....(shame about the hurry up then!)....but I think that's the darker, wine reds.
I like to wear turquoise if I'm feeling down & I have a two thirds pink bathroom which is so soothing & calming. (only me to use it most of the time so it's ok that it's a bit girly!)

Mood can be affected by colours, red can be a very stimulating colour which may have an anger effect on your mood.
My dog has a problem with red, he rips anything that is left about that is red, took us a long time to realise, he calmed when we changed the colour of his bedding and toys.
Just don`t go into a room that has vivid green, unless you want to be sick that is!!!
Hope this helps,

Hello everybody,
can someone tell me why a person who smokes shouldn't take selenium. I fancied taking it on a regular basis, so I go I bought some. However, on the label it indicates that they shouldn't be taken by people who smoke. I really want to take this preparation but I also smoke. So, if anyone tells me to stop smoking and take the pills........well, just don't !. It's my choice.
I can't imagine why this has been said, except that selenium combats the effects of pollution and by smoking I would be nullifying the effect. Well all I want to take it for is as a preservative, the clock is ticking and I don't want to lose my still youthful looks, I know it's shallow and vane, but worse attributes can be had.
Thanks for your knowledge,
